Kinshasa is preparing for a major advance in the field of health. The Michel Kibala Foundation has confirmed the opening, next August, of its medical imaging and laboratory centre, equipped with modern facilities for radiology, ultrasound, and biological analyses. The aim: to provide quick and reliable diagnostics, accessible to a larger number of patients.

“We want to bring medical technology closer to the people of Kinshasa and reduce costly evacuations abroad. This centre is designed to serve the population, not just an elite,” explains Dr Thierry Fataki, the medical head of the project.

This arrival on the market is sure to create competitive dynamics. The EYANO Centre, already well established, has become a reference in radiology and laboratory services. But the Michel Kibala Foundation intends to stand out with a more inclusive pricing policy and a desire to broaden access to care.

“Competition is healthy. It pushes everyone to improve their services. Patients will be the big winners,” emphasises Pastor Daniel Atuba, Assistant Manager of the Foundation.

Pastor Michel Kibala, head of the Foundation, insists on the spiritual dimension of this project:

“The establishment of this medical imaging is in the will of God. Man must be considered in his entirety — body, soul and spirit — and we want to meet his needs in this perspective.”

In the streets of Kinshasa, the announcement is already generating hope. “I have often had to wait weeks for an examination or travel to Brazzaville. If this centre delivers on its promises, it will be a blessing for us,” says Patrick, a resident of Bandalungwa.

With this opening planned for August, the Michel Kibala Foundation aims to mark a decisive turning point for public health in Kinshasa, by offering a credible and modern alternative to the already established players.
