About Us

The Michel Kibala Foundation (FMK) was established on 18/01/2025 as a Non-Governmental Development Organisation. 

The headquarters of the Organisation is located at N° 02 Kivulu Avenue, Bisengo District, in the Bandalungwa municipality, Kinshasa City in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Michel Kibala Foundation (FMK) extends its scope of action across the entire territory of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Michel Kibala Foundation (FMK) is established for an indefinite duration. Its motto is Union-Work-Development. 

The purpose of the Michel Kibala Foundation (FMK) is the integral development of man in order to combat poverty in all its forms through participation in sustainable development projects for disadvantaged rural and urban populations by enhancing local resources.

The main activities of the FMK are: 

  • Ensuring the dissemination of modern methods in agriculture, livestock, fishing and aquaculture;
  • Contributing to the emergence and promotion of female entrepreneurship;
  • Supporting street children, widows and orphans, the elderly, and unemployed single mothers;
  • Agriculture, livestock, fishing and aquaculture;
  • Contribute to the fight against all violations of human and women's rights, and the administrative, judicial or military harassment in order to report them, where appropriate, to the competent authorities;
  • Launch initiatives and support aid and assistance programmes for farmers, fishermen and herders by facilitating their regular supply of inputs and seeds;
  • Ensure transportation means for the evacuation of agricultural products in rural areas to supply major consumption centres;
  • Organise campaigns for the purchase of agricultural, fishing and livestock products for marketing and processing into finished products;
  • Create a network of agricultural cooperatives, savings and credit to revitalise economic activities at the grassroots;
  • Combat illiteracy and rural exodus;
  • Create nursery, primary, secondary and vocational schools, higher institutes and universities as well as training, literacy, language, computer and vocational training centres;
  • Participate in the improvement of primary healthcare in rural and urban areas by creating health and nutrition centres;
  • Fight against sexually transmitted infections (STIs and HIV/AIDS), malaria, tuberculosis, sleeping sickness, leprosy and support the WHO or the EPI in the vaccination programme;
  • Assist the elderly, orphans, people living with disabilities, abandoned children, vulnerable individuals, widows and other needy persons;
  • Create orphanages, reception and accommodation centres;
  • Lead humanitarian and emergency actions in favour of refugees, displaced persons, disaster-affected or vulnerable populations ;
  • Initiate and support projects for the social and professional integration and/or reintegration of young people in rural as well as urban areas ;
  • Ensure civil protection of urban and rural populations in times of conflict as well as in times of peace ;
  • Create a space for international solidarity and support any initiative to strengthen African solidarity and regional and international cooperation ;
  • Train, raise awareness and support actors, facilitators and beneficiaries in matters of food security, ecosystem management and the environment where all voluntary action of the FMK is deployed ;
  • Promote self-reliance of target populations through environmental management actions ;
  • Protect wildlife and flora ;
  • Combat poaching in national parks ;
  • Combat erosion, abusive logging in rural areas ;
  • Reforest the Congo Basin forest and develop sources of drinking water ;
  • Undertake research projects on African culture and values, appropriate technologies, natural resources, etc.
  • Fight for the development of pygmies through their integration into Congolese society, combat the inequalities and injustices they suffer ;
  • Support rural and urban populations through Integrated, Participatory, Endogenous and Sustainable Community Development projects.

The resources of the FMK come from :

  • Membership fees and contributions ;
  • Sale of services ;
  • Income generated by self-financing activities ;
  • Donations and legacies ;
  • Bank credits ;
  • Support from partners ;
  • Grants from the Congolese State.
